AUGRABIES OVERNIGHT RAFTING EXPERIENCE

This trip covers a 15 km stretch of the Orange river. The afternoon is spent cruising leisurely down the river enjoying the amazing riverine wildlife. Overnight on the banks of the river. Early morning we depart on the more exciting stretch of river above the Augrabies falls, ending at mid-day.

ITINERARY

Day 1
Meet at our base camp at 13h00 sharp. Gear up and depart for the river. Enjoy an afternoon paddle appreciating the spectacular scenery and wildlife. Arrive at our camp to find a blazing fire and a comfortable camp. Enjoy sundowners on the banks on the river before a luxurious campfire dinner is served beneath a canopy of stars.

Day 2
Wake up to an early breakfast before tackling the exciting Augrabies Rush. This stretch covers grade 2/3 rapids such as Rhino, Rollercoaster, Klipspringer, Blind Faith and the Cascades in the Augrabies Falls National Park. Take out at 12H00 and shuttle back to the National Park for a farewell lunch and showers.

Meals : catering, ice, snacks, dinner, breakfast, lunch, teas and coffees.
GUIDES: professional APA trained guides.
TRANSPORT: to and from the river.
RIVER GEAR: rafts, buoyancy aids, helmets, paddles, watertight containers and safety equipment.
CAMPING GEAR: tents, mattresses, chairs, cooler boxes and all catering equipment.

WET GEAR: sunblock, hat, sunglasses with tie on’s, sandals or track shoes, costume, shorts, long sleeved shirt, sarong and windbreaker, sleeping bag

DDRY GEAR: clothes, dry shoes or boots, environment friendly toiletries, torch and camera.
DRINKS: cans are best except for decent bottles of wine and bottled water.
